Age: 16, 16th February 1980, AquariusYear: 6th Gender: Male Blood Status: Half Wand Description: 11", Birch wood, Dragon vein core
Height: 172 cm or 5' 8"Eye Colour: Brown Hair Colour: Blonde (dyed), natural colour being black Physical Attributes: With a hint of Japanese blood, he looks cute though not overly handsome. He is athletic, though looks a bit too skinny as he's just lately started eating properly. Additions to uniform: His skull necklace and he wears bracelets with rude sayings in Japanese. He is very particular about them, as they were given to him by Iori, his brother's friend. Iori was the first person to openly accept Jack's orientation. There are four bracelets around each wrist, made of tiny black beads and every bracelet has a white rectangle with the word in them. He hides them the best he can but takes them off when caught with them on. Accessories in general: His bracelets, a small necklace with a skull and a piercing on his right eyebrow, which he has to take out when in uniform. At the moment, though, he doesn't wear the piercings in public since flaunting Muggle items garners a great deal of negative attention in Slytherin and sometimes in the other Houses, too. Usual out of uniform attire: Anything black and fitting, and of course his accessories
During his first five years at school, Jack changed gradually from a happy and innocent youngster to a silent and withdrawn teenager. He was never accepted well in Slytherin, since he announced on day one that he had a squib parent (unknowing that it was considered something awkward), and him showing interest on both Muggle and Wizard things didn't help his situation at all. Jack suffered daily from bullying by his classmates, and it was ignored by the Professors.
The situation pushed him to the edge – he even contemplated on ending his own life. But things started to change just when it was about to be too late. A person stood up for him, then another… even though not all of them stayed as his friends, it made him realise all was not lost.
At the moment, every day is a bit of a battle to be won. He has taken it up as a challenge. The boy that shied away from all human contact has stopped running away. He still doesn't trust people, though, and is most suspicious about people who try to befriend him, but at least it's a start.
At home, Jack feels all the attention he receives from his parents is negative. His parents thinking his behaviour is the result or caused by puberty, is the main reason why he's stopped any effort in trying to make himself heard. He wants to think he's able to take care of himself, and won't ask for help unless he really needs it. Josh trying to protect him makes Jack see red, because he doesn't believe Josh is sincerely worried about him. Jack is very jealous of the positive attention Josh receives from their parents, and can't stand being compared to his brother. The newly appointed position in the Quidditch team, he feels is the key to make his parents realise he can stand on his own, without Josh or anyone.
All in all, he wants to change and be a stronger person. And, with change in behaviour, Jack draws a bit of attention. He doesn't want to just shrivel up in a corner anymore.
The family has always lived in the Muggle part of the world. They have moved several times because of the father's work. They have lived in Britain, Italy, Brazil, and Japan and at the moment in France. Their father owns a chain of restaurants around the world. The newest one has just been opened in Hogsmeade, it is also the only one located in an all-Wizarding community. When Jack heard of Josh being a wizard he was sort of relieved because he never seemed to fit in the Muggle world himself. Then again, he doesn't seem to fit in as a wizard either as he doesn't feel as though he suits the house he was chosen to be in. He has never been one to respect those with Pureblood status over others, or to look down on Muggleborns. He quickly found out he was not wanted in his House, the last drop being him openly declaring his bisexuality, which made people dislike him even more.Only now he has realised he must start trying to stick up for himself, and quit being the punching bag he has been for so long. He's started brewing some Calming Draught for himself, which helped him to get a grip on himself, though now he has maybe gotten too used to it, and it will be hard to let go. The newly formed alliance with Stephen Medvin is one of the things that gives him hope for a better future.
Relationships:Pet/Familiar: Family owl named Tristan Friends: He'd like to say Stephen is friend, but it's a bit too early to tell in his opinion. Enemies: Draco Malfoy and many other Slytherins. He has finally decided to stop fearing Draco, though he still feels Lexx Zathour is a very creepy person. Crush: None at the moment, or so he keeps telling himself. There will come a day when he'll realise he's in it for Stephen, but it'll take time. Other: Jack practically lives in the library all the time he isn't sleeping, at class or in his hideout within the castle brooding alone. Despite having changed, he still likes to brood occasionally.
Languages: English and French – he uses French only at home and uses French sometimes at Hogwarts when he doesn't want anyone but his siblings to understand what he says. He does know that many other students speak French, too.
Family:Mother: Mariélle McArdle, a French Witch Father: Niles McArdle, squib, owns a chain of Muggle restaurants around the world. Siblings: Joshua (17, Rav), Jason (14, Rav), Trisha (12, Gry), Thea (10), Trudy (7), Jonah (6). All younger siblings have shown magical ability. Eighth child is on the way, and Jack is undecided whether it's a good or a bad thing. Grandparents: Yes Other Relatives of Importance: Niles' grandmother is Japanese; therefore they have some relatives in Japan. Aunt Alicia Rainfall, who is Niles' sister. Cousins Isabelle (17, Gry), Toby (15, Gry) and Emily (14, Huf).
OtherNationality: British Birthplace: London, UK Broom (if applicable): Uses whatever the Slytherin team has, Nimbus 2001 at the moment. Living in Muggle area he has no use for his own broom Your characters view on Voldemort: Jack is afraid of Voldemort, and fears for his family's safety. Favourite subject and why: History of Magic. Jack adores the subject, and is constantly reading extra History books on his free time. Most disliked subject and why: Divination, but gladly he does not take it anymore. Favourite Professor and why: McGonagall is one of the only ones he likes. Most disliked Professor and why: He cannot name just one, but it's easy to pinpoint why he hates Snape - the only Professor he ever told about being bullied by his classmates. Snape clearly indicated that if Jack continued showing interest in the Muggle way of life, he deserved all the negative attention. Jack still hates Snape, even though he did take the advice and stopped reading Muggle books in public. Favourite Professional/School Quidditch team: Cannot name one, he likes several Hobbies: Reading library books, swimming. Listening to metal music when feeling down. Likes: Being alone, flying, and taking care of his younger siblings. Dislikes: Racists, and he also dislikes the Muggle World occasionally, because he gets bored there. But he's conflicted in a way – whenever he's at Hogwarts, he still misses Muggle stuff, because it's home.

Plans for your character's future: Jack would like to become a Historian in the future. And if not that, he's great with kids and could handle a profession involving children.
In the near future, Jack will gradually gain more confidence. He will seem more fitting to the Slytherin House and his ambition will come more apparent. He will also start making some friends.
