Patrick is a practical guy. So books aren't his best friends at all and he struggles to keep his grades acceptable. Any grade that he gets that is above "Acceptable" is due to his liking of the subject and therefore his paying attention in that particular class. He's a very easy going guy and always tries to see the good side of everything. His positive attitude makes it easier for him to make friends.
He is the type of person who believes that life is happening now and that makes him not plan too far ahead and he can be caught off guard because of that. He doesn't tend to see the big picture but he does try and take people in consideration.
He can be a bit too easy going when it comes to anything that is not Quidditch and so needs to be pushed in same way in order to achieve his potential.
As a true Hufflepuff, Patrick is loyal to a fault but that also mean that he doesn't forgive and forget. He's known to hold grudges and though he might forgive you, he's not likely to forget.
As far as girls go, he hasn't managed to stick with only one yet, but is definitely looking for his soul mate (though he has not told anyone this, not even his sister).
Patrick's weakness is his sister. He feels completely responsible for her and so he tries to protect her from anything and everything. That can make him blindsided and stubborn with everything related with Scarlet.
Patrick is the oldest son of Rosalyn and James Walsh. His mother owns a Dance School in Dublin and his father works for the Department of Mysteries in the Wizarding world. Mostly they are a very happy, normal family. Ever since his sister was born, Patrick always felt the need to protect her. Even though their tastes were obviously different due to their gender difference, they were always very close.
He attended a muggle school before going to Hogwarts. He was very excited to learn more about the magical world and didn't have trouble making friends. Being a Quidditch fan since a very early age, he jumped at the first opportunity he got to join the Quidditch team. When his sister started to attend Hogwarts, he took the role of her guide and protector. Throughout the years he has tried to protect her from everyone who picked on her or tried to. Even though she has grown and has proved that she can take care of herself, Patrick still sees her as a small little girl that still needs her big brother.
In all his Hogwarts' years the only subject he has truly succeeded in was Quidditch, though anything that demands a bit more action has also caught his attention. In his sixth year, Patrick heard from his sister that Harry put together some sort of a club named Dumbledore's Army in order to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts seeing as no one was learning it in Umbridge's class. Even though the idea seemed exciting, he joined mostly to keep an eye on his sister. The summer before seventh year has been very gloomy for the Walsh family. His father has moved away from them in order to keep the family safe after the Ministry finally acknowledged Voldemort's return. The rest of her family moved in with his mother's parents in case Voldemort started to go after them. His mother wanted Patrick and Scarlet to go back to muggle schooling but after protests of both of them and several arguments with Mr. Walsh, she gave in. That has only increased Patrick's sense of responsibility towards his family, especially his sister.
