Bachelorette Recap | Episode 4

Bachelorette Recap | Episode 4

Hey guys it’s Fumnanya. If you are new here welcome, if you are not
welcome back. Either way you I’ll welcome! Yesterday’s episode got off to a very dramatic
start. You had Bryce, Lee and Iggy kind of all going
at Eric at the same time. Lee is kind of the ringleader of it, he’s
kind of doing most of the face to face instigating. But Bryce is definitely doing some behind
the scenes and Iggy is kind of running back to Rachel as little informant. So that kind of came to a head this episode. Rachel was feeling the pressure. I was really impressed with Dean in that moment. He really was very angry with Lee he called
him a moron, he called him a little bitch. I mean he was really frustrated with Lee because
he felt like Lee was attacking people that he really liked, people he called his friends
and he respected. So Dean said the only people that least picked
fights would have been not the people he’s used to seeing on a daily basis from a cultural
perspective. Then the producer asked what do you mean? To which Jane replied you know exactly what
I mean when I say that. I was like okay Dean, look at you acting like
you know! He went further and he said the longer leave
stays around the more everyone will become aware of his intolerance. Now I don’t know what Dean’s saw to kind of
make him make these statements about Lee, I’m sure there’s some things that happened
off camera that he must have seen, must have been privy too that gave him this insight. But I really appreciated that he stood up
and said it. Because often times it’s really hard to get
other people to acknowledge what’s going on no matter how blatant it is, no matter how
obvious it is. The fact that he kind of stood up and said
it and didn’t back down. When I think the producer wanted to make him
kind of feel a little uncomfortable with what he was saying, he said you know you know exactly
what I mean when I say that let’s not pretend like we don’t know what that means. So kudos to Dean, good job I really wasn’t
feeling you at first but that was cute, I like how you did that. Lee is antagonizing certain guys in the group. I said that in my video I didn’t take it any
further than that. But this time I’m just going to go ahead and
say that it seems that Lee is intentionally antagonizing the black men on this show. I don’t know why he thinks that’s an effective
strategy but that’s what he’s doing. It was Will in the preview kind of explaining
to Lee how calling black men aggressive is problematic. That term has been used to kind of justify
violence and inappropriate overuse of force against black men in various situations. So I really appreciated that they showed that,
that’s an important thing to mention especially because Lee was repeatedly calling some of
these men aggressive. It made me feel very uncomfortable that’s
something that I very much dislike to hear in reference to black men. So I like that they touched on that. Like Kenny said he was at least 10 feet away
from Lee when they were having their conversation so Lee really doesn’t have a footing to say
that he felt in anyway threatened. It was very frustrating for me because he
kind of made Kenny out to be the aggressor. The reason that was frustrating for me is
because Kenny then on the group date had to spend the majority of his one-on-one time
explaining that to Rachel at least from Kenny’s perspective. He said that she her body language gave him
the impression that she was very much in Lee’s corner. I get how that would be infinitely frustrating
especially in Kenny’s position but I just wish that if Kenny’s impression was true,
if Rachel was very much in Lee’s corner I wish she would have given him a little bit
more of the benefit of the doubt. Lee seems very much focused on trying to get
certain guys eliminated from the show. He even says at 1 point Kenny you’re going
home. I was like Lee who was the Bachelorette? It’s not you, don’t. Kenny kind of calls him out and says that
he lives in a world of alternative facts. I mean I don’t need to site check that reference
for you we all know what that’s relating to you. But I think a glowing moment was Peter came
up he was like look I know there’s a lot of drama I know there’s a lot of bad vibes of
circulating, this is not something you should have to worry about. That comfort turn away, that’s mature and
understanding and very genuine. I’m just all about Peter I think he’s super
genuine, all good vibes as far as Peter goes. His freestyle was trash. We’re just gonna let that go. Rachel had this really poignant moment. She’s talking about being a black woman in
this position and just feeling pressure from all sides and she feels like her decisions
are going to be judged regardless. She didn’t want to get into it that night
she said but she just had a breakdown. I really felt for Rachel in that moment, it
was a very raw moment for her. At 1 point she even says you know what I’m
not talking about this, which is understandable. Some people just don’t like to be vulnerable
like that especially if they feel like the person they’re speaking to doesn’t understand
or could never really understand. So I really like that they showed that because
I think that’s an important piece of her experience to show and stay true to. That’s it for my little recap. I hope you guys enjoy. Definitely remember to thumbs this video up
